Our Awards This Week Go To...
This week our awards go to two very deserving girls.
Our Value is Consideration and we always think of D.B when we think of consideration. Always thinking of others and showing a very thoughtful and caring nature is why D.B is getting this week's values card.
K.R has been working very hard lately and is producing some great work. She has also won a part in our Production and is working hard to learn her lines....
Well done to you both!!
How to say "hello" in Korean...
Our school welcomed a group of 17 teachers and students from Korea this morning. We are lucky enough to have them with us for 4 weeks.
The fierce boys did an awesome haka to welcome our guests. |
A welcome waiata for our guests. |
The Kapa Haka group in action. |
Mr Kim saying hello to Botany Downs, via Mrs Jo. |
The Korean students singing us a song. |
Our amazing school choir singing to our guests. |
If you see our guests out in the playground remember to say hello and be polite and kind, they are a very long way from home.

Our Awards this week go to...
Our value this term is Consideration but the person chosen for the value this week displayed this but more importantly, Honesty. P.J-T found a lollipop in the cloakbay last week and instead of taking it home to have two she brought it into the class and told me that someone had dropped theirs. This showed me what a wonderful attitude she has and I am very proud of her.
J.Q is recieving our Special Terrific Award this week as I caught her looking after her friends and new members to our maths group. She encouraged another member of the class and looked after some who were feeling sad and this deserves to be rewarded. Well done J!!
Our class is proud of you both.

Is it an animal?
An animal lives on the land or in the sea. An animal can be
a herbivore, carnivore or an omnivore because some eat meat, some plants and some (like us) eat both. Animals live all over our planet. Some
animals are reptiles and some are mammals. Some animals are becoming
endangered. An animal is any living creature.
This is an example of Relational Thinking.
If we want to become Extended Abstract thinkers we need to
be able to explain ourselves so we need to start with 'I think' and then form an
opinion.
We think it is unfair that animals are becoming endangered
because we want our children to be able to see all of the wonderful animals we
see now still alive and out in the wild where they belong. We think that
killing animals for trophies is very wrong and it is not fair that animals are
being hurt so a hunter can put its head on a wall. We never got to see some
animals that are already extinct and we don’t want that to happen to any more
beautiful animals.
What do you think?
